Prof. Helen Fulton Awarded Leverhulme Fellowship
20 December 2019
Helen Fulton, Chair of Medieval Literature, has been awarded a two-year Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship to begin in October 2020. Helen's project, 'Medieval Welsh Political Poetry', will result in an edition of Welsh poems about key political events of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. She will also write a literary biography of one of the most significant Welsh leaders during the Wars of the Roses, Sir William Herbert, a man whom history has largely overlooked. Helen says, 'It is a great privilege to be given this time to work on two related projects which will cast new light on the medieval culture and politics of the Welsh March, and I'm extremely grateful to the Leverhulme Trust for supporting this work.'
