Dr Cathy Hume receives Arts Faculty Research Internship

31 May 2017

Dr Cathy Hume has been offered an Arts Faculty Research Internship, which will allow her to employ Steve Bull to carry out preliminary research for a performance of the fifteenth-century Life of Job. Cathy's forthcoming article 'The Life of Job: poem, Bible translation, or play?’ (New Medieval Literatures, 2018) argues that this hitherto obscure 15th-century poem was written for performance at a guild feast. Steve will be gathering information about recent adaptations of similar plays and seeking out potential collaborators and performance venues, in preparation for a performance for the public in Bristol in 2018 or 2019. The Department sends its warmest congratulations to Cathy and Steve on their award for this exciting project.
