Professor Elizabeth Archibald has been awarded a Leverhulme Research Fellowship to work on research into bathing in medieval literature and society. This was the topic of Professor Archibald's inaugural lecture. She will be focusing on erotic baths, medicinal baths, and the influence of Roman and Arab bathing customs on western Europe in the Middle Ages.
