New! Literature and the Public Good

In economic hard times and with increasing demand for public benefit to be specified as a condition of public funding, what is the value of studying something like literature? We are pleased to announce that on Monday 22 November 2010 at 6pm, Professor Rick Rylance (chief executive of the AHRC) will visit the English Department to give a lecture on Literature and the Public Good. This lecture is free and open to all, but places will be limited; to book a place call Tom Sperlinger on 0117 954 6969 or e-mail tom.sperlinger@bristol.ac.uk
