The International Graduate Programme in English for Academic Purposes (IGP) is designed to prepare you for postgraduate study in the UK.
As well as improving your knowledge and use of academic English grammar and vocabulary, we will help you develop an awareness of the expectations of postgraduate study, for either taught or research postgraduate students, at a top UK institution.
Please note: The IGP does not provide any academic content - you will be studying academic skills and English language.
On the International Graduate Programme, you will do between 15 and 21 hours per week of supervised study. We offer small classes of between 10 and 16 students, providing you with the help and attention you need during your study.
On successful completion of the course, you will be ready for a postgraduate programme, be that a Master's or PhD, at a UK university. You will be awarded a grade which proves you have reached an advanced level of academic English with an increased understanding of postgraduate study in the UK.
Please note: The University of Bristol has entry requirements for all Postgraduate Programmes. Please see the Prospectus for details about the conditions you need to meet to study a degree at the University of Bristol.
During your studies with us, we will help you adjust to living and studying in the UK, and we will give you lots of support in applying for postgraduate programmes at the University of Bristol and other universities. You will be allocated a personal tutor during your studies.
