All courses are intensive, providing up to 20 hours of classroom contact each week. In addition, students will be required to carry out a programme of self-study and complete a number of individual assignments.

Students will be assessed at the start of the course and organised into classes according to their level of English. All classes will be small, with an average of between 12-15 students. Each course will include:

A wide range of course books and audio-visual materials are available to course participants. The Centre for English Language and Foundation Studies (CELFS) has its own self-access facility (SAF) with a reading room, internet access, satellite TV, video and audio work stations. In addition, participants have access to the University libraries and, for a small fee, the University Sports Centre.
