Research summary

I am a world leader in the measurement of biodiversity.

I have created a computer programme that can be adapted to a variety of taxa for the estimation of biodiversity.

I have given radio and television broadcasts on the ecology and physiology of slime moulds (one of nature's odder creations).

Biography

After working in both the Civil Service and industry obtained a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences (Ecology) from University of Exeter and then a PhD (Ecology of Myxogastrids) from University of Bristol which was continued as a post-doctoral research.

A fully qualified teacher (D of E) and member of the Institute of Learning and Teaching. Founder member of the Institute of Ecologists and Environmental Managers and also the Institute of Environmental Management and Audit. Works as a consultant in biodiversity assessment.
