What is eLearning?
eLearning encompases the use of electronic technology and media to deliver, support and enhance teaching, learning and assessment.
Examples
The following list gives an idea of of the applications of technology for teaching and learning.
- Computer Assisted Assessment. Software is employed to set tests for students. Much of the marking is then automatic.
- Use of communication tools such as discussion boards.
- Submission of assignments over the Internet.
- Provision of online simulations.
- Distribution of material in various formats, from simple online documents to interactive tutorials and audio and video resources.
- Video and audio recording of students for formal assessment or for formative learning.
