NEW Funding Opportunity for Special & Inclusive Education

The Department for Education are offering scholarships for UK teachers and support staff up to £3500 to identify talented professionals and help give them the opportunity to develop their specialist knowledge further, so that they can progress in their careers, and pass their knowledge on to their pupils.

There is very short window of opportunity for this fund. The call opens on 08 April 2013 for three weeks only.

To qualify for a scholarship SEN support staff have to:

work in an eligible school in England;
spend at least 50 per cent of their contracted time supporting pupils who have special educational needs and disabilities in learning based activities; and
have achieved qualifications equivalent to, at least, full level three or hold higher level teaching assistant status.

The Special and Inclusive Education programme is one of the priority subject areas for funding so we would strongly encourage interested applicants to look into this route of funding.
