The Graduate School of Education has a long tradition of offering initial and continuing professional development for professionals and practitioners.
The Graduate School offers five Masters programmes:
There are a number of common features to all Masters/Diploma programmes. All are modular, are grounded in current professional practice and research, and allow credit transfer
We aim to:
- extend and deepen students' professional knowledge
- develop students' understanding of specific theories, ideas and practices, and the relationships between perspectives from different disciplines
- provide a caring, collaborative working environment in which students from different backgrounds can work together and share experiences for their mutual benefit
- encourage a commitment to intellectual challenge
- develop students' intellectual, practical and transferable skills
- help students to read and evaluate research in their subject area, and to conduct systematic research relevant to their professional practice
- encourage critical thinking
- encourage students to develop as reflective practitioners
- provide clear and effective structures for the organisation of teaching and for students' learning.
