Visiting Research Students

The Graduate School of Education welcomes applications from visiting research students.

If you wish to visit the Graduate School of Education you will need to:

In the first instance therefore you should approach a member of staff to see if s/he is interested in acting as your mentor  Please see our research centres to find a member of staff who fits with your area of research.

Please note that the University of Bristol will not award any credit or make any awards based on work undertaken during the research visit.  We expect that you will engage with the research community in the GSoE within the relevant CLIO Research Centre and, if appropriate, within the Department.

Once you have agreement from a mentor and dates have been agreed, we will process your application and send you a welcoming letter confirming the offer of a place. This letter will clarify that they you will not be studying towards a qualification with the GSoE but that you will have access to the University libraries and computer centre, and would be invited to attend any research seminars and CLIO events as appropriate.

Regrettably, the Department is not in a position to provide an office or computer but there is shared space in the Doctoral Student Rooms, University libraries and in the computer centre. You may wish to bring a laptop.
