Professor Michael Crossley Awarded Honorary Membership of BAICE

The British Association for International and Comparative Education (BAICE) has confirmed Emeritus Professor Michael Crossley as an Honorary Life Member for his extensive contributions to the field of comparative and international education and to the development of BAICE itself.
He is a former Chair and President of the Association who has done much to bridge the comparative and international dimensions of the field in ways that highlight the potential to be gained from theoretical scholarship when more closely engaged with challenges for contemporary policy and practice. He has carried out research in many countries worldwide, pioneered the development of international research partnerships, published over 200 books and articles in the field and supervised over 50 doctoral students.
Professor Crossley is the founding Director for the Centre for International and Comparative Research in Education (CIRE), leads the specialist Education is Small States Research Group, and continues to play an active role in research and teaching in the School of Education. His BAICE Presidential Address, tiled ‘ Policy Transfer, Sustainable Development and the Contexts of Education is published in the peer reviewed journal Compare, 49 (2) 175 – 191, 2019.
