Engagement Bites: The Art of Listening: a story of how engagement can enhance research

17 May 2017, 1.00 PM - 17 May 2017, 2.00 PM

Giovanni Biglino from the Bristol Heart Institute

Old Council Chamber, Wills Memorial Building

Giovanni Biglino from the Bristol Heart Institute takes us through his public engagement story: from staring blankly at a grant application's public engagement box, to being awarded a £200,000 Wellcome Trust engagement grant. From this journey, Giovanni has discovered the value of reflection and listening in engagement and how research can be enhanced, or even formed, by bringing in new voices.

Come and hear from Giovanni, and take the chance to ask him - and the public engagement team - your questions about what makes engagement so valuable. Sign up on Eventbrite.

Engagement Bites is a new series of informal lunch time talks organised by the Public Engagement team with the aim of sharing some of the public engagement taking place at the University and opening up conversations about it. Members of the Public Engagement team will be available after the talk to chat about your ideas for public engagement. Feel free to bring your lunch.
