Creative classroom approaches - An interactive 'show and tell'

This event is a part of the Festival of Education series from 3 - 15 June 2015. 

In this practice focused event, teachers from four special schools in Bristol will share insights into the development of creative and innovative approaches to teaching diverse groups of students. Using interactive presentations the teachers will give examples of supporting emotional well being in schools, using digital technologies to support academic achievement and supporting educational transitions. There will be an opportunity to discuss their work and ask questions about ways in which they continue to innovative in their daily work.

Teachers from:

St Christophers School, Bristol, will be talking about the importance of facilitating participation.

Rob Chomnicki, John Cabot Academy, Kingswood, will talk about his own research on pupil voice and participatory strategies for supporting diverse learning environments.

Artemi Sakellariadis, Centre for studies in Inclusive Education, will share teaching and learning new materials for schools working around issues of Diversity.

Colleagues from Claremont School, Bristol will be sharing their work on the use of high tech and low tech communication aids to support learning.
