Campaign for Social Sciences Roadshow

25 March 2015, 12.30 PM - 25 March 2015, 2.00 PM

4.10, 35 Berkeley Square

*SSL Faculty event*

Can social scientists be smarter about accessing funding? How can we get the government to value social science? In what ways are social scientists impeding their own success?

On Wednesday 25 March the Campaign for Social Science roadshow visits the University of Bristol. With a general election in May and a government spending review to follow this is a critical opportunity for social science to shout loudly about its value to the UK economy and society. The Campaign will present the recommendations of its new report The Business of People, launched 24th February, and hopes for a fruitful dialogue with social scientists at Bristol about the current state and future direction of social science in the UK.

Panel: Professor Sir Eric Thomas, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wendy Larner, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, David Walker - Head of Policy, Campaign for Social Science; Roses Leech-Wilkinson- Policy Officer, Campaign for Social Science
