The Academic Quality and Policy Office (AQPO) is responsible for a broad range of activities around academic quality assurance and enhancement, education regulatory and policy development and student engagement, building on good practice and informed by the wider HE sector.

Bristol Institute for Learning and Teaching

The Bristol Institute for Learning and Teaching promotes education and educators at the University of Bristol by supporting staff and enabling and disseminating pedagogic innovation and research.

Education Administration Office

The Education Administration Office is responsible for the overall management and technical support for the University's central records system (SITS) and centralised reporting on student data. This includes the analysis, development and implementation of new functionality.

Examinations, Timetabling and Graduation Office

Examinations Service

The Examinations Service manage the exam process for the University at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Timetabling Service

The Timetabling service is responsible for creating and maintaining all taught programme timetables, for both academic staff and students; and responding to requests for timetable changes.

Web Room Booking (WRB) is an online room requesting tool (linked to the University's, Syllabus Plus, timetabling system) allowing you to submit a room booking request to use the university's centrally bookable teaching rooms for non-teaching activities.

Graduation Service

The Graduation service are responsible for the student administration elements of Graduation, including:
  • compiling and publishing ceremony timetables
  • managing student invitations and tickets
  • the production of seating plans and the student section of the Graduation Programme
  • assisting students with queries about graduation
  • assisting students and guests with special arrangements for medical conditions
  • producing visa support letters
  • investigation of outstanding tuition fees and appeal queries
We also organise the ceremonies in conjunction with the Events Team.

International Student Visa Advice and Compliance

The Internationl Student Visa Advice and Compliance team (ISVAC) work together with students and staff to ensure that students are compliant with their Tier 4 student visa conditions as set out by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The team also ensures that the University is compliant with UKVI regulations, ensuring maintenance of our Tier 4 Sponsor Licence and our ability to recruit international students. The team advises on and assesses students' eligibility to apply for permission to come to the UK and for extensions to their student visas.

Student Funding Office

The Student Funding Office provides information, advice and guidance to students on all aspects of student funding. The Office also administers a range of bursaries, scholarships, studentships and discretionary hardship fund awards to students.
