Research summary

My current research focuses on melting studies in the laser-heated diamond anvil cell (LH-DAC) in order to investigate a range of compositions in the simple binary and ternary systems (MS, CMS, AMS and FMS, where M,S,C,A and F represents MgO, SiO2, CaO, AlO1.5 and FeO respectively) in the lower mantle pressure range. Experimentally determined melting phase relations in these systems will enable the improvement of thermodynamic models for melting through the Earth's mantle. Biography

Currently, I am a Research Technician at the School of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol working on various projects related with laser-heated diamond anvil cell experiments. I have recently obtained a PhD degree at Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics (CEED), University of Oslo, Norway where I have been working on PhD thesis entitled: 'Experimental constrains on the Earth's lower mantle melting and core formation'. Beforehand, I worked at the Institute of Mineralogy and Petrography, University in Innsbruck in Austria as a research assistant.
