Bristol EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellowships give EPSRC-funded PhD graduates the opportunity to launch their independent research careers at Bristol
The Bristol Doctoral College is delighted to announce that applications are now open for fellowships supported by the EPSRC Doctoral Prize scheme.
Recently graduated or soon-to-graduate EPSRC-funded PhD students have until 1 October 2018 to apply for a two-year Bristol Doctoral Prize Fellowship, which enables successful applicants to propose their own bespoke programme for conducting pioneering research at the frontiers of science and engineering.
The fellowships also provide opportunities for successful applicants to work within world-class research groups at the University — and create a platform for a permanent academic post or a further externally-funded fellowship.
Christos Ellinas from the Faculty of Engineering, who was awarded a fellowship in 2016, said of the scheme: "When the opportunity arose to continue my career at the University of Bristol through the EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellowship, I acted swiftly and decisively.
"Overall, the intellectual independence provided by the fellowship, and partly enabled by its associated budget, has proven to be an indispensable asset to my quest.
"I highly recommend applying for one — what can be better than two years researching at a renowned university in a renowned city?"
The full eligibility criteria and details of the application process can be found in the EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellowship advert.
