Problems on your exam day
If you're ill during an exam
If you're ill during an exam and want to get a Doctor's note for the Exam Board to take into consideration, try to make an appointment to see a Doctor on the day you fall ill. Doctor's notes should be handed in to your school office.
If you're ill and cannot attend your exam
Contact your school office as soon as possible if you cannot attend an exam for any reason.
If you're unable to attend an exam due to illness and choose to self-certificate, you must take the exam at the next time it is scheduled. This will normally be during the 're-sit' period in August/September. There is no penalty for self-certifying.
If you need further advice on your illness the Students' Health Service will be able to help.
If you're worried about your exams
If bad weather prevents you getting to your exam
If you're unable to attend an exam for any reason you should contact your school office before the start of the exam.
The Exams Office will always try to ensure exams take place.
If the start of an exam is delayed, the Exams Office will inform any schools as necessary and an incident report form will be completed.
