Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital

The Hospital is a District General Hospital and was rebuilt in 1995. The OFMS Department is therefore newly designed and well equipped (including computers for SHO study) and linked with a busy Orthodontic Unit.

On-call trauma service 1 in 4. In patient and day case GA for: Head and neck, Maxillofacial trauma, Orthognathic surgery including cleft palate, Salivary gland and Dento-alveolar. MOS LA sessions and Out patients. Study leave is provided and there is an active PGMC with library. Regular tutorials and teaching sessions occur at local and sub-regional levels. Sitting the FDS/MFDS is strongly encouraged and there is an excellent pass rate. The hospital has an active Drs mess. The job is busy but provides plenty of hands on experience in a friendly environment.
