Jennifer Haworth awarded funding from Royal College of Surgeons

Jennifer Haworth (NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Orthodontics) has been awarded a grant worth £8700 from the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons, England. The title of her research project is “Mechanisms of oral Streptococcus-induced platelet activation” and the grant money is to be used for research consumables.

The project will be based here in the Oral Microbiology department, collaborating with Dr Steve Kerrigan at the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland. The research will be supervised by Dr Angela Nobbs.

The Faculty of Dental Surgery Small Grants scheme is designed primarily for early career researchers or lecturers and not for individuals who are well established in research. The small grants are funded solely by the Faculty of Dental Surgery.
