Lighter, stronger, faster, better: composite materials and their future applications
Composite materials are commonly described as being made up of a combination of two or more materials, but through clever engineering the properties of such materials can add up to be much greater than just the sum of their parts.
This public lecture will explore a range of examples where composite materials have been employed to make our lives safer, more convenient, more economical and sustainable, and how recent developments in composites could open up exciting new possibilities for future applications.
A public lecture from Dr Valeska Ting, Reader in Smart Nanomaterials, Bristol Composites Institute (ACCIS).
