Michael works on the methodological strand of the ESRC funded project "An examination of the impact of family socio-economic status on outcomes in late childhood and adolescence", and is mainly concerned with missing data techniques, including modeling in the WinBUGS Bayesian environment. He has previously held statistical posts in the Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol, and in the National Health Service.
