Professor Carol Propper has been awarded an ESRC Professorial Fellowship. This is a highly prestigious award, designed to support leading social scientists working in the UK by providing them with the freedom to pursue their own innovative and creative research agendas.Carol's Fellowship will enable her to build on her research programme on the impact of market mechanisms on the delivery of health care through a series of linked projects over three years. The over-arching question the Fellowship research will address is: 'under what conditions will the greater use of market mechanisms be beneficial for the users and payers of health care services?'
