Green Impact

Within CSNB, we are aware of our impact on the environment and recognise that we have social and ethical responsibilities to consider ways in which we can reduce our negative impacts. Like any laboratory-based department, our day-to-day operations necessitate a large consumption of energy and resources and we are continuously looking for ways to reduce this consumption. Additionally, we have taken active steps to reuse and recycle resources wherever possible. We actively engage with the University Sustainability Division and North Bristol NHS Trust’s Environment Management Unit who support us in our mission to limit and reduce our negative impacts on the environment. To find out more about what we are doing, please have a look at the WebPages below or talk to one of CSNB’s six ‘Green Champions’.

Green Impact Awards

The Department of Clinical Science at North Bristol has been awarded a gold award as part of the 'Green Impact Awards' scheme. The University of Bristol Green Impact Awards offer a practical way of helping departments become greener, whilst celebrating the small steps that individuals are taking to reduce our collective environmental impacts.  Green Impact challenges departments to implement a number of easy practical actions that help the environment.

The department has 6 'green champions' who are registered with the Energy and Environment Management Unit and are responsible for ensuring that the department fulfills the necessary criteria on an ongoing basis.
