Thucydides conference success

Professor Neville Morley and his co-researcher on the AHRC-funded Reception of Thucydides project, Dr Christine Ming-Whey Lee, recently held a very successful workshop in Seattle entitled 'Thucydides, our Father: A Conversation on the Politics of the History' at the American Political Science Association annual meeting.

The team will soon be travelling again, this time to Berlin, for another conference in April entitled 'Authority and Power in Thucydides – between Anarchy and International Order' at Free University. Professor Morley and Ben Earley, one of the project research students, will also be travelling to Glasgow to participate in a panel at the European Social Science History Conference

Closer to home, the project is organising a two-day conference on "Thucydides our Contemporary", to be held on 28th and 29th June. Confirmed speakers include Clifford Orwin, Arlene Saxonhouse, Hunter Rawlings and Gerry Mara; further details to follow.
