2016 BCS CDT - Syngenta Award
29 September 2015
The BCS CDT - Syngenta Award is an initiative generously supported by Syngenta, created to allow a student committee to organise a visit by a well-respected chemist.
This year's committee consists of Emma Blackham, Isabel Perez-Powell, Lisa Recnik, Tim Shuttleworth and Steve Street.
After an extensive consultation involving the student body and Syngenta, the Committee has chosen Prof. Melanie Sanford, from the University of Michigan, as the 5th recipient of this student-led award.
Prof. Sanford will visit the Department on 18th May 2016, when she will give to two separate talks about different areas of her research. There will also be a 60 min Q & A sessions, when students can enquire about any topic, whether her research, her career-path, what is like being a woman in science, or a Professor in the windy state!
Previous awardees have commented on what a novel experience has been to be hosted by students and how they have enjoyed their time in Bristol.
