Three new grants, totalling over 1.2 million pounds, have been awarded to the School of Chemistry by EPSRC since 1 August 2012.

In collaboration with the University of Sheffield Professor Paul May together with Dr Maeve Caldwell (Bristol Neuroscience) have been awarded a 3 year grant to research "CVD diamond as a substrate for biological cell growth - towards direct brain-computer interfaces" valued at £639,621.

Dr David Fermin

Dr David Fermin has been awarded a grant for 30 months to research "Electrochemical oxidation of low molecular weight alkanes to liquid fuels at molecular interfaces". The grant is valued at £271,685.

Professor Kevin Booker-Milburn

Professor Kevin Booker-Milburn will receive a 3 year grant valued at £308,399 to research "An extraordinary photochemical reaction of pyrrole - a new tool for molecular complexity".
