Woolfson group research contributes to synthetic biology toolkit

Cover story for Dek Woolfson's research group
Dek Woolfson's group, in collaboration with Leo Brady and Paula Booth (Biochemistry), have published a set of designed protein molecules that they believe will for the basis of a toolkit for the emerging field of synthetic biology.

Their work made the cover of the new American Chemical Society journal ACS Synthetic Biology.  This cover reflects a central tenet of synthetic biology: The hypothesis that biological components can be refined to give a toolkit of building blocks which may be used in a modular plug-and-play fashion.
