The School of Chemistry is proud to participate in the Green Impact environmental accreditation scheme and has scored awards on three fronts.
  • The School as a whole achieved a Bronze Award for 2011-2012.
  • Bristol ChemLabS achieved the Gold award - to add to their previous Bronze award.
  • The Environmental Hero individual award has gone to Lisa McCracken for her work in supporting sustainability in the University.

Green Impact is now it its 4th Year, Bristol was the first university to implement the scheme which is now undertaken by 46 universities across the country. The award challenges departments, or teams within them, to implement practical actions that will help the environment including reduction of waste, promotion of sustainable travel and energy saving shutdown plans for vacation periods.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed - and particularly to Ian Bull, who led the School of Chemistry submission, and to Lisa and the other members of her ChemLabS team - Steve Croker, Ian Nichols, Hugh James, Belinda Burke, Pauline Radnedge and Matthew Sawyer.
