Profile
Patricia Kennett is a Senior Lecturer in Comparative Policy Studies. Since joining the University in 1993 she has undertaken both teaching and research with an East Asian focus. She has developed and taught an undergraduate module on social policy and society in Japan, Australia and Hong Kong. Her research has focused on citizenship and social differentiation, homelessness and social exclusion, and economic instability and the housing market. Current projects include a comparative study of women’s material assets in Britain and Japan with a particular focus on housing/land (with Misa Izuhara, and Prof. Masami Iwata, Japan Women’s University, Tokyo) funded by the Institute for Household Economy, Japan.
