Profile

Marianne Hester is Visiting Professor at The Political Science and Law University in Beijing, China. Since 1980 she has carried out research into many aspects of violence against women and children, including comparative analysis of domestic violence in China. Her current work includes a comparative study of ‘young peoples’s experiences and perceptions of violence in the family’ in the UK and China, being carried out in conjunction with Professors He Junping and Tian Lan in China, and Dr Geetanjali Gangoli in Bristol.
