Where Will I be Staying?

Accommodation will be at Manor Hall which is a University Hall of residence based in the heart of Clifton within walking distance to the University of Bristol where the summer school is taught.

What Facilities Are There?

Each person will be provided with a single study bedroom in a self-contained shared flat of 5 people.  Each flat has a small kitchen with a cooker, hob, microwave, toaster and fridge freezer. All cutlery and crockery is provided.

Bedding will also be provided for your stay. Each bedroom has a small sink and a desk. There are no en-suite bedrooms and showers are shared facilities in each flat.

A Laundry room is also available and there is a common room with a television set.

Is Breakfast Included?

Yes. Breakfast is served in the main dining hall each morning and is a continental breakfast of cereals, croissants, yoghurt and tea and coffee.

What About Other Meals?

If you have a funded place, a voucher will be provided for a meal at lunchtime at the University Staff Dinning facility. Evening meals will be provided at either organised conference meals or we will provide you with small subsistence funds on the days where no formal activities are planned to enable you to buy food.

There are also facilities in the flats for cooking should you wish to.

Is there Internet Access at Manor Hall?

Manor Hall does not have internet access. However, there are internet cafes in the surrounding area and access to computers on campus will be provided in the library during the summer school period.
