In 2011 the University of Bristol was awarded funding for the UK’s Centre for Doctoral Training in Communications (CDT in Communications). This interdisciplinary Centre is dedicated to training PhD students (PDF, 197kB) in a state-of-the-art environment with the skills to drive future research, development and exploitation. Graduates from this unique Centre will be highly employable both in industry and academia, with a strong mathematical understanding of Communications.
The Centre is funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) with support from industry. It is the only such Centre in the UK and collaborates closely with a wide range of UK industries.
This collaborative venture involves the:

- Department of Computer Science
- Safety Systems Research Centre (SSRC)
Students work in a multidisciplinary environment, with leading academics and industrialists in a wide range of Communications topics.
