- OBE in the Queen’s New Year honours list for Professor Jean Golding 5 January 2012 Children of the 90s (also known as ALSPAC), the world-famous population study founded in Bristol in 1991 by Professor Golding.
- Double celebration at the Population Health Symposium 28 November 2011 There was a double celebration at the Population Health Symposium, held at the Wills Hall Conference Centre on the 16 November 2011. This year included a poster prize for early career researchers and was won by Phil Peacock with runner up, Simon Collin.
