We run a programme of careers fairs in the autumn and spring terms.

The Spring Careers Fair

Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 May, 12 pm to 3 pm, Careers Service, Tyndall Avenue

Careers Fair Plus App

  • Download the app to help you research in advance of the fair.

It's never too early or too late to start researching organisations, building your networks and meeting employers on campus.

  • Something for everyone – companies of a range of sizes and across a variety of sectors will be there to meet you, including local employers, as well as employers recruiting globally.

Careers Service pop-up (Marquee 1)

Taster talks will be taking place in Marquee 1 so come listen or speak to the team for advice and guidance.

Before or after attending the Spring Careers Fair come along and see us at the 'Careers Service pop-up' - based in Marquee 1 outside the Careers Service.

You'll find a 'Confused about your career' zone and a series of 'top tips' talks running throughout the afternoon.

Confused about your career zone

Many students are unclear about what they want to do after they graduate - and so we'll have Careers Service staff on hand all afternoon to provide some help to get you planning your next steps. 

There will also be some questionnaires and activities to get you thinking about possible career ideas. 

Top tips talks

A series of 15 minute talks on useful topics linked to the fair. No booking required, just turn up. Info sheets available on each talk. 

  • 12:30 pm - Top tips for CVs
  • 1 pm - Top tips for cover letters
  • 1:30 pm - Top tips for interviews
  • 2 pm - Showcasing your soft skills
  • 2:30 pm - Understanding the labour market for PG students
  • 2:45 pm - Selling your research skills to employers

Global Opportunities

A talk and employer films for international students will take place in the Physics building next to the Fair, visit mycareer to register.

Small Business, Big Opportunities (Marquee 2)

Working for a large multinational company isn't for everyone, and small business can offer unrivalled opportunties for responsibility, challenge and variety early on in your career. Explore the range of careers available in small business and where your degree could take you. Visit us in Marquee 2 for advice and information about working for an SME and internship opportunities. 

We're also running a series of 15 minute opportunity talks hosted by employers, students and the Enterprise & SME team throughout the afternoon on both days. No booking required, just turn up. Info sheets available on each talk
