Centre for Health, Humanities and Science launch event
G.2, Cotham House
The Centre for Health, Humanities and Science is delighted to invite members of the University, health care professionals and the public to our launch event on the 8th November 2017. The Centre’s long-term aim is for the University of Bristol to be recognised as a leader in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research at the intersection of humanities, medicine, health and science. Our vision is to stand out as a centre of excellence of research, but research with impact.
We are hoping to showcase the diverse research interests across the faculty at this event. To this end, the launch will be split into two parts. During the afternoon session we invite Faculty of Arts members, including PGRs, to give short presentations on papers or projects they are working on. Following the academic presentations, the evening session will provide an opportunity to network over food and drinks. There will also be the chance to try out a range of initiatives at the intersection of humanities and health; we will be joined by Jules and Graham who are running a course on Singing for Lung Health at Southmead Hospital, Emma Lazenby will present and discuss a short film produced by FORMED FILMS, and attendees are welcome to create their own artwork from a variety of media provided. For the evening session we welcome posters or displays from Faculty of Arts members, covering current research projects that they wish to showcase. The deadline for abstracts and poster suggestions is 18th October 2017.
Should you wish to present a paper at the afternoon session, submit a poster of your research work for the evening session, or be added to the Centre’s mailing list then please email email@example.com. This is a free event but registration is required.
