Women in Medicine: Careers and Leadership

Professor Selena Gray is Deputy Postgraduate Dean in Severn and has an academic post at University of the West of England, Bristol. She trained in Leeds, and after a brief spell in paediatrics which included working in Saudi Arabia, she trained in Public Health Medicine in the South West.

Dr Melanie Jones previously worked in anaesthetics and in the Wales Deanery and is now a Medical career development advisor, supporting doctors with career dilemmas and transitions, including developing career support skills, leadership, and time management. She has an MA Managing Medical Careers from the University of Brighton.

Both presenters are Past Presidents of the Medical Women’s Federation, a charity that promotes the personal and professional development of women in medicine. 

The workshop will aim to help individuals identify what they want from their edical careers and how they might achieve this. It will encourage individuals to reflect on their own values and  priorities, and to hear the career stories of others, as well as receiving tips and advice on how to increase the likelihood of achieving their goals.

Hot breakfast provided.

This event is open to all grades of doctors and medical students. Please provide your name, place of work/study, branch of practice. Places are limited, book early to avoid disappointment.
