Population Health Research Theme Annual Symposium and Frankel Lecture
20 August 2014
The Population Health Research Theme announce that the Annual Symposium and Frankel Lecture is scheduled for 20 November 2014.
This event will include a series of presentations by junior researchers and a poster session as well as talks delivered by senior representatives of major initiatives at the University.
As always, this event each autumn showcases the work across the Population Health research theme and draws attention to new research and collaborative possibilities. This year, the event will close with a drinks reception following the key note "Frankel Lecture" to be delivered by Prof David Armstrong from King's College London.
We would now like to invite submission of abstracts for oral presentations - details below:
* Deadline: Monday 15 September 2014
* Specifics: One side of A4, inc. title, name & summary of research (250 words max)
* Body of abstract: Background, methods, results and conclusions
* Submit to: firstname.lastname@example.org
* Outcome of abstracts to applicants: w/c 22nd September 2014
Abstracts will be published as submitted; please therefore proof and edit your submission accordingly.
Abstracts can relate to any aspect of population health (please see www.bristol.ac.uk/populationhealth for a summary of suitable topics), and we welcome submissions from a variety of schools and disciplines. If you are chosen to give an oral presentation we would like you to prepare a 10 - 12 minute presentation which will be followed by 3 - 5 minutes questions from the audience.
As in previous years, the theme will also be running a competition whereby one of the speakers will win a prize for best oral presentation.
We are also including a poster session and would encourage you to bring a poster to the event. A second prize will also be awarded for the best poster. If you would like to bring a poster please let us know - we will need your poster title ahead of the event in order for you to be eligible to win the prize.
Please register your attendance (essential for planning catering on the day).
