Cancer Research UK - New funding schemes launched

With CRUK having recently launched their new 5 year research strategy, there will be a number of new funding schemes launched in the next couple of months.
Programme Foundation Award - to support exceptional mid-career scientists who have an academic position to develop an independent research group. Typically up to £1.5M each. Launch: June 2014; first deadline Sept 2014.
Multidisciplinary Award - to support collaborations with scientists from distinct scientific disciplines, providing novel insights and approaches. CRUK is particularly interested in interactions with physicists, engineers and mathematicians. Typically up to £0.5M each. Launch: July 2014; first deadline Dec 2014.
Immunology Award - To catalyse interest in tumour immunology within the wider immunology community. These are grants for immunologists not currently involved in cancer research, to bring them into the field for the first time. Typically up to £0.5M each. Launch: July 2014. First application deadline Dec 2014.
Biotherapeutics Award - to discover biological therapeutics with a particular focus on antibody and cell therapies. Typically up to £2.5M each. Launch: Aug 2014. First deadline Nov 2014.
