Despite the cold winter weather the Urban Pollinators Project Team are still busy behind the scenes........

Despite the cold, wet and snowy weather the project team are still busy behind the scenes.  As well as entering all of the data collected in 2012 into our project database, we are currently gearing up for the upcoming field season in 2013.

This summer will be the final field season of the project, and we will be concentrating our efforts on studying the insect pollinators in the urban flower meadows which is the third research question we are addressing during this study.  Ten meadows will be sown with an annual seed mix in each location (Bristol, Leeds, Edinburgh & Reading), in addition to the five perennial meadows sown in each city last spring.  We will be updating the website shortly with more information about the meadows - what we will be doing and when, and also where to find your local meadow.  We are also working on an Urban Pollinators Project newsletter which will provide a non-technical summary of how the project is progressing.  Be sure to keep checking our website, blog and Twitter feeds for updates!
