The north of the city houses British Aerospace and Rolls-Royce which together form the largest aerospace complex in Western Europe, while close by other companies, such as Hewlett Packard and Du Pont, have factories and research laboratories.
It is situated about 120 miles from London and has excellent transport access by road, railway, coach and air to many other parts of the UK and Europe. In particular Bristol is a gateway to the fantastic countryside, coastline and heritage of southwestern England and Wales.
