Orly Razgour wins three awards

Orly Razgour was awarded the Vincent Weir Scientific Award in 2012 for her PhD research on the integrated conservation biology of a rare bat species, the grey long-eared bat.

Orly Razgour was awarded the Vincent Weir Scientific Award in 2012 for her PhD research on the integrated conservation biology of a rare bat species, the grey long-eared bat. The Vincent Weir Scientific Award, hosted by the Bat Conservation Trust, aims to reward and encourage research on the conservation biology of bats by young researchers and to recognise The Hon. Vincent Weir’s major contributions to the field. Orly received a commendation from the Faculty of Science for her PhD thesis.

Orly also received second prize for best student presentation for her talk titled ‘the shaping of genetic variation in edge populations under past and future climate change: the grey long-eared bat as a case study’ at the 46th Population Genetics Group meeting held at the University of Glasgow 18-21 December 2012.
