A NERC grant of £656k has been awarded to Professor Jane Memmott, Head of Biological Sciences at the University of Bristol, to work on landscape level food webs.

The grant is working in collaboration with Dr Steve Gregory in Computer Science at the University of Bristol, Professor Simon Potts at the University of Reading and staff at the seven Wildlife Trusts in Southwest England.

The research programme will ask how food webs interact in real world landscapes and how the various habitats (e.g. woodlands vs heathland vs salt marsh) affect the structure of landscape food webs, and delivery of ecosystem services such as pest control and pollination.
