C33 public computer room
C33 is Biological Sciences' public computer room. Undergraduates, postgraduates, staff, and visitors (with UOB usernames) are welcome to use it. It has 40 fast PCs, two big printers, and two scanners.
Opening times
Term-time (Autumn and Spring)
- 07:30 to 18:45: Monday to Thursday
- 07:30 to 17:45: Friday
Term-time (Summer)
As above plus:
Vacations
- 07:30 to 16:45: Monday to Friday
Room booking
To reserve C33 for teaching please contact Charlotte Webb. Future bookings can be viewed at the University's timetabling web site.
Where should I save my work?
Generally, the K: drive is the best place to save your work. See our guide for a full explanation.
Printers
- Choose Bio-C33-BW-Students for black and white printing (5p per page). If the black and white printer is busy, you can use Bio-C33-BW_Output_From_Colour instead.
- Choose Bio-C33-Colour Printer Students for colour printing (20p per page, even if your document isn't colour - be careful to pick the right option!)
Top up your print/photocopier credit at the Student printing (PAS) site.

The following software packages are available:

- Microsoft Office 2007: Access, Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint, Word
- Mulberry 4: read your University of Bristol email
- Mozilla Firefox: recommended web browser
- Serif PhotoPlus X2: image manipulation software
- EndNote: reference management software, used to keep track of bibliographies and citations
- Google Earth
Utilities
- CDBurnerXP: burn CDs and DVDs
- 7-Zip: quickly unpack compressed files, like zip files. Right click a file and look for the 7-Zip menu.
