Why did you decide to apply for your course at Bristol?
Partly the reputation and partly the positive things that I’d heard about the city. I had some very good vibes about the place when I came to visit on open day.
How did the open day help you to choose to study at Bristol
The staff were really good. I enjoyed the talks and displays – they were very interactive. It felt like they were really making an effort to engage you and make sure you had a good day.
What do you like best about your course?
Probably the breadth of the course – I’ve learnt so many things!
There a good choice of modules and field courses in the 2nd/3rd year. The degree programme helps guide what you’re interested in studying.
I like the fact that the lecturers are experts in their field. They’re very enthusiastic and encouraging and this is reflected in their teaching.
What would you say to a prospective student?
Bristol is a great place to study Biology. The department is highly rated in research and staff are friendly and approachable.
The large amount of fieldwork in the course means that you get to know the other students very quickly. The city is vibrant and a great place to be.
