The School of Biochemistry was very pleased to, once again, be part of the ASPIRE programme. This programme is externally run by retired teacher, David Hunt, who strives to give students from North Somerset a real taste for hands on research by giving a "professional experience to pupils who don't have professional connections". Sixteen Y11 and Y12 students were invited into the Faculty, with 12 of these spending most of the day within the School of Biochemistry. The pupils took part in various experiments, listened to a lecture by Neil Marrion and finished the day with a STAN session. The day was incredibly enjoyable for all involved and thanks go to the Mellor, Lane and Banting labs for hosting the pupils.
"The day was amazing and has confirmed that I have chosen the right path".
