From Award ceremonies to lecture series, celebrating excellent teaching is one of BILT's key activities.

One of BILT's key priorities is to celebrate all of the excellent and inspiring teaching that takes place at the University. We love to share best practice and innovative ideas, and give praise and recognition to those who are making a difference.

There are a number of events throughout the year that especially mark out those who are excelling in their teaching: the Best of Bristol lecture series is a student-led nominated venture in which the student body vote for their best lecturers to deliver a open lecture. Last year we recieved over 500 nominations for staff, with ten lectures taking to the stage to deliver. You can watch all of last years lectures here, and find out more about the series (including how to place your nomination) on this page

For the last seven years we have held the Bristol Teaching Awards, an annual event in which we give awards from both staff-led and student-led nominations. The event hosts around 200 staff and students and is always a huge success, with performances from SU societies and a delicious dinner! Nominations open in March and the event takes place in June - you can read more about it, including watching a video from last year's Awards, on the Bristol Teaching Awards page.

Know of something that deserves to be shared?

We want to continually highlight all of the excellent work going on throughout the year so if you know if anyone who you feel deserves some recognition, please get in touch at bilt-info@bristol.ac.uk or send us a tweet!
