Areas of research in the BHI
From basic biochemistry to clinical studies and from population epigenetics to stem cell research, the BHI has strengths across a wide range of different areas of cardiovascular science. Thanks to the knowledge and expertise represented across all these areas, the BHI is able to offer opportunities to conduct powerful cross-disciplinary research, and enable basic science discoveries to be taken into the clinic.
Individual BHI members can - and often do - overlap different areas of research, reflecting the highly collaborative nature of research in the BHI.
However, categorising our research into different areas is helpful in showing all the wide range of approaches we are using to tackle cardiovascular disease.
