Daniel Morden 'Tales from the Odyssey'
Badminton School, Peace Memorial Hall
The Bristol Classical Association is delighted to announce its 2018/19 programme of events, which kicks off in the autumn with 'Tales from the Odyssey', performed by professional storyteller Daniel Morden.
Daniel Morden is a leading exponent in the art of storytelling. He has delighted audiences all over the world with performances at The Barbican, The National Theatre, and The British Museum, as well as at festivals including the Vancouver, Oslo, Yukon, Hay, Beyond The Border, and the Bath and Cheltenham festivals. He has also worked on television and radio and has published six children's books. He was recently awarded the Hay Festival Medal for his contribution to storytelling. Along with Hugh Lupton, Daniel has produced the fantastic ‘Classical Tales’ resources for the Cambridge Schools Classics Project. They have retold and recorded Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, and Ovid’s Metamorphoses, for a modern audience. The recordings, available for free online with accompanying teachers’ notes are intended to support teachers in bringing the richness of classic tales to life in the classroom.
